French bistro chairs used to be something left solely to a visit to Paris, but now designers all over are ordering paris bistro chairs in a variety of colours, to add amazing texture and history to modern spaces.
Ikea debuted earlier this year the Almsta chair in a gorgeous natural rattan or black, a simple reproduction of a classic, but at $99 each, you can dress them up, or customize with paint, to make them truly yours. The originals from Paris are very similar in shape, but with more colour and texture.
I love how they look enmass, so soft, comfortable and elegant, but are actually very practical, durable and lightweight. Would look as appropriate inside around a breakfast table as it does outside at a French bistro.
Hints of colour could easily be added to the natural rattan Ikea chairs as well, by simply tying coloured ribbon around the joints to create a similar look, or with paint, to tie in the chair to your interior design scheme. Reproductions of these incredible chairs are everywhere, but Ikea has outdone them all with their affordable price.
I can’t wait to buy these and show you what I do with them …. so many ideas…
