This week we started tiling!

My initial inspiration for the bathroom was this design by Kelly Wearstler. I’m really into the hollywood regency look lately!

Well due to my dad’s lack of patience and the fact that the marble tile was a little fragile, we didn’t end up doing the design I initially wanted but we came up with a compromise that I’m happy with!

I initially wanted a border on the two front sides of the tub and a black marble border around the ceiling, but that would have added at least a few more days of work and may have run out of tiles if they started breaking. I’m happy with how it turned out and by this point we were sick of tiling and couldn’t wait to be finished.

No vanity top yet, but that’ll be a custom carrara marble top.

The sconces I initially wanted were something a little more like these venini sconces from 1st Dibs but the $3900 price tag was an obvious deal breaker. I think the Rona sconces we got for $50 were a decent compromise.

Now to remind you of what the bathroom looked like before…
